TRANSLUCENT
SHEETS
Known as Skylights. It is used to utilize day light and save
energy, a day light transmitting capacity with these sheets
are 70-80%. GRP Translucent sheets are molded to roof and
wall profile. Particular care is taken to avoid air pockets
to increase the life of translucent sheets.
This
sheets are formed from U.V. Stabilized Polyester Resin Reinforced
with Glass Fibers (GRP) on a fully automated continous production
process providing FLAT and CORRUGATED Sheeting to suit most
roofing and vertical cladding profiles of protected metal
, aluminium & asbestos.
It
combines a high degree of light transmission with an even
diffusion of light and is suitable for providing natural daylight
in many applications such as Factories, Warehouses and Agricultural
buildings (greenhouses)
It
is also used in many other applications including Canopies,
Swimming Pool covers, Vertical Glazing, Partitioning and suspended
Ceilings.
APPEARANCE
Standard sheets are natural color translucent, colored tinted
sheets can be produced subject to commercial viability and
pigment availability.
PROFILES
Full
range of corrugated sections is available to suit protected,
aluminium, metal and asbestos, roofing and vertical cladding,
special profiles can be produced on a minimum quantity basis.
SIZES
Length of the sheets is continuously manufactured and may
be cut to any length. The projected width (which is measured
up, down and across the corrugations) will match the roofing
panels.
WEIGHTS
Standard
weight for most roofing & vertical cladding panels is
1.83 kg/m².

General Purpose: UV stabilized, in accordance
to BS 4154 PART 1-1985, The general purpose GRP sheets provides
an exceptional life and durability under the GULF climate
conditions.
Fire
Rates (Self Extinguish): in accordance with BS 476

Surface
Protection: Integrated surface protection film (Melinex
Polyester Film, from ICI Industrial Films) providing an exceptional
durability and extra wear layer which extends the life of
the GRP sheet. It is available on request for exterior or
both sides.
DURABILITY
To Maintain and Extend sheets
life and durability, sheets must be periodically (once in
a year) cleaned by using water and detergent. It is also recommended
to do a periodical maintenance every 4 to 5 years by applying
a coat of ACRYLIC or POLYESTER LACQUER.

BLIND
RIVETS
MEI offers the most widely used Pop Blind rivets which are
suitable for most applications. These blind rivets are made
of 99.5% pure aluminium material composition to meet international
standards. The selected blind rivets should be compatible
with the materials being joined, and the joined strength will
determine the spacing of the blind rivets. The rivets are
engineered for a range of material thickness for which it
will be effective.

The
properties given are average values except where otherwise
stated. This information sheet should be used in conjunction
with Product Technical Specification to asses the suitability
of the product for the intended application.
The
rolls of tape must be stored flat on their cut edges in the
original packing, until required for use, and must be protected
for dust, heat, moisture, direct sunlight, corrosive and solvent
fumes. Under these conditions, the storage life of the tape
in a temperature climate will be not less than two years.
Storage in more severe eg. Tropical climates reduces the storage
life and in the worst conditions, it is not recommend storage
for more than six months.
These
recommendations are based on a combination of experience and
laboratory testing. User conditions, even for common application
differ considerably. For this reason, users are recommended
to test the tape for its suitability in their particular application.
MEI Technical Department would be glad to assist customers
with simulated testing.

BUTYL
TAPES
It is used in roofing, cladding, gutter joints, side/end laps,
joining single skin roof light etc. It is available in the
blending of cross-linked butyl and inert fillers extruded
into strips or braid to form a roll with paper backing. The
application is so easy to achieve best results
PRODUCT
DESCRIPTION
This
is composed of synthetic rubbers, plasticizers and inert fillers.
The plasticizers have carefully chosen so that they are compatible
with the polymer base commonly known as "Inseal Tapes".
It
is fairly soft sealant tape which has good initial adhesion
to many surfaces. It does not exude oils or platicizers, remaining
stable over a wide temperature range. It is available as an
extrusion on paper backing in a wide range of sizes and shapes,
details of which are available on request.
AREAS
OF USE
This
can be used in various building and construction applications
such as air, dust or water seals for compression joints. It
may also be used in mechanically fixed lap joints such as
those found within roofing and cladding.
Other
areas include:
·
Duct flanges
· Glazing unit to frame seals
· Commercial vehicle bodies
· Sound deadening pads in bumpers

METHOD
OF APPLICATION
It
is available in the form of an extruded strip on a siliconized
release paper.
The
surfaces should be clean, dry and free from oil or grease.
When using extruded strip, the material should be applied
to one surface, the backing paper removed and the other surface
brought into contact.
Contact
MEI Technical Department for further details.
HEALTH
AND SAFETY
There
are no known hazards associated with this type of product.
When using the material the usual standards of cleanliness
and hygiene should be exercised.
|
SILICON
SEALANTS
It is one component system that is applied direct from the catridge.
Due to the electrometric qualities of the sealant it has excellent
recovery properties and will withstand constant cyclic movement
without any adverse effect to the sealant. This can be used
as an interior or exterior sealant and is virtually unaffected
by rain, snow, extreme temperature changes, and constant ultraviolet
exposure. It is designed to withstand under the forces of expansion
and contractions. |

FILLER
BLOCKS
Quality foam closures are manufactured from high-density polyethelene
foam to ensure no shrinkage. Their charcoal black colour blocks
100% of UV rays. Factory cut to the profile shape results
in reduced labour cost and interlocking closure tabs allows
quick and easy installation. Roofing and cladding profiles
filler block protect against water vapours and dust.

Application:
SB-Flex ® PE grey is mostly used in the construction industry
as sealing string of similar or even different materials as
pre-filling compound. Due to its neutrality, it can be used
without reservation with absorbent materials.
Profiles:
SB-Flex ® PE grey is produced in standard design to suit
various profiles with a thickness of 50mm
Processing:
Expansion joint construction must be executed according to
DIN 18540 of the building industry. SB-Flex ® PE grey
fulfills this Din condition.
When
fitting the profiles in the joint construction, it must be
overlooked that the profile is compressed by 25% and that
no sharp-edged tool is used, otherwise the surface will be
damaged.

CAM-LOCKS
We offer Camlocks mold to our Cold Store Panels which include
Pin (to put the cams on the molds), Locks and Gaskets, to
ensure that no Polyurethane foam goes into the camlock mold.
The polyurethane foam is resistant to thermal conductivity.
The Camlock along with side of the panel enables it to hold
the panels together and ensure the stability for a long period.
